Wine Tasting in the Church 22nd March

Following the great success of our church event with Steven in October, we have another exciting event to offer the village.  Toppesfield Vineyard is a small boutique vineyard run by Jane and Peter Moore who have agreed to come to Chelsworth Church on Friday 22 March to offer us the opportunity to learn more about wine production in Essex, and, most importantly, to host a wine tasting, enabling us to sample the white, rose and sparkling wines which they produce in their Essex vineyard. Guests can arrive from 7pm, the wine tasting will start at 7.30pm.

The evening promises to be fun and informative. The cost of the event will be £15 which will include the wine tasting and bread, cheese and patė.  Extra glasses of wine (and bottles!) can be bought but please bring cash as the church has no Wi-Fi facility at the moment and card readers have proved to be very hit-and-miss.

Please let Lizzie Howarth or Julie Partridge know if you would like to attend. We can only accept cash in advance of the event, and we need to confirm numbers by Friday 15th March. We will email you a ticket once you have paid, therefore if you are dropping off cash please include your email details. Details of everyone who buys a ticket will be kept by us so don’t worry if you lose yours.

My Life in Clocks by Steven Davidson

64 villagers and friends gathered in the church for a very enjoyable social event. We are very grateful to Steven who gave a fascinating and entertaining talk “My Life In Clocks”.  The audience was captivated from beginning to end.

The evening was a great success, with excellent pizzas supplied by Shikha Shak and a few glasses of wine. Thanks to everyone for their generous support.  After costs, we will be sending £500 to DrugFAM.

It was a great evening and huge thanks are also due to our amazing village clockmakers - of the floral variety!  Christine and Lizzie really did produce a most imaginative arrangement, based on metalwork by Bob, to complement the evening.
